I typically need judge a book by the covet so I went into this blind. Never knowing just how dark it really is.
Lily is such a broken damaged girl with a ton of disorders that she fights everyday and Roman is the typical guy who doesn't believe live is real. He does whatever he wants with them without a single ounce of remorse. He bangs and toss, bangs and toss, til one single kiss unlocks all these emotions he tried so desperately to hide from.
At first, I hated Roman so freaking much but he is so broody and god, thinking of him in those fitted jeans just made me... Gah!
Odette.....Yeah, Lucy..I'm not even speaking on that WITCH!
This ride was so difficult and very honest and real, I was so hooked from the first page. When you first read it your like, "what the heck is wrong with these people?!" But that's why I loved it, its gritty, dark and difficult and addictive. So darn addictive.
The quotes, OMG!!! "she's mine. She has been mine since I laid eyes on her that night and every night since. She gives as good as she gets"

This is one great story, not only a love story but a story about broken people and how they can deal with love, trust, old habits and old stories mingled with the new ones in their lives.
The story and the characters are intriguing, complex, with many touches of reality.
I recommend this book to anyone that had their heart broken and to those whose who have experienced life from its ugly side, so that would mean pretty much everyone (adults of course!!).
This book is genuine, some parts left me hanging and that's because it's a series novel and I'll get the bigger picture during the next books as the author specifies.
And hey! This is only the beginning for L.Harvey, it's her debut novel and I cannot wait for the other novels to come actually!
Broken Love is titled perfectly. It should read with a warning

I’m used to reading about passionate love, irreplaceable connections and the different interpretations of soul mate. What I haven’t read in a really long time is a love story, so dark and raw – it’s almost toxic.
Broken Love is L. Harvey’s Debut Novel where she introduces readers to two very complex individuals, Roman and Lily. The story line is formed around their unexplainable and unhealthy attachment to one another. Fighting their own personal demons, readers hearts will be torn deciding whether Roman and Lily are better off together or apart.
Harvey has created characters that are unlike any others. With their broken hearts and invisible scars, Harvey expressively writes of their individual anguish, pain and heartache. Her writing allows for the readers to feel the pain that is attached to each scene and as each secret is revealed and each feeling is dissected, we start to understand the true complexities that plague their relationship.
Lily and Roman are a true example of the fine line that love can cross. From independent to co-dependent, happy to sad, having relationship security to being crushingly insecure. The list is endless. Harvey’s depiction of their intimate connection, their addiction and survival mode, like craving for one another will blow you away.
Broken Love will no doubt have you feeling all the pain and will leave you raw. Readers will be hoping that the sentiment of love conquers all will suffice for Lily and Roman

Broken Love was accurately titled and best describes Lily and Roman's relationship. At first I will admit that I was "ify" about the book, but I decided to keep reading and boy I don't regret it. I completely fell in love with them and the story. Their love was so raw and gut-wrenchig , that I felt their anguish. I didn't know if they were better off not being together, due to how cruel Roman could be to Lily.
This book was a rollercoaster and I was, to a certain point, rooting for Lily to tell Roman where to stick it and just kick his precious jewels - repeatedly. But, like the sucker that I am (I think that's why I understood why she fought so hard and stuck by till the end) I ended up adoring Roman. You will definitely feel the passion, the want, the lust, the love from both characters.
I definitely recommend this book to be your next read or be added to your TBR list. If you love a good love/hate relationship with a sexy alpha male and being that girlfriend rooting for your girl to kick said alpha male to the curb, but not really tell him to take a hike. Then this book is for you. You will love the characters and the storyline. I cannot wait to read more books from L. Harvey. I'm already anticipating "Love First (The Illusion Series #2)" 😊
Not what I was expecting but SO worth every minute. This was such an amazing story and just what I needed to read at this point in my life. Perfection.
I enjoyed this story and the fight for love was tough but they found their HEA.
Ugh! This book was so addicting!! But, I want you to know that upon purchasing this book, you're going to want to punch Roman Court at least 3 or 4 times to the throat!! Lol He was killing me! But, Lily made me just as sad... Her need to not only to be loved, but for someone to actual believe in it just as much, was heart breaking at times. Roman is dirty and raw to the core. You will fall in love with these two damaged souls. As, this was L. Harvey's debut novel, I look forward to many more!!
